The Kansas City Public Schools Education Foundation was established in 2012 as a self-perpetuating, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization to promote quality education in Kansas City Public Schools. The Foundation works in partnership with but financially independent of the district to help close critical funding gaps by serving as a conduit between the KCPS team the Kansas City community.
The Foundation aims to create a culture in which diverse professionals work together to help KCPS students recognize their full potential. Four key values guide our behavior:
The Foundation is governed by an all-volunteer board of community leaders who are passionate about public education and committed to KCPS student success. Members include ex-officio members who currently serve the KCPS school district in a leadership capacity.
